Alison is a highly experienced legal professional with nearly 20 years of expertise in insolvency law. She qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and as an insolvency practitioner in 2007, after successfully completing her JIEB exams. Alison advises insolvency practitioners, SMEs, creditors, debtors, and directors on a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency issues, including restructuring, across both contentious and non-contentious matters.

In her current role, Alison manages the day-to-day operations of Silverback’s insolvency team and leads the development of the firm’s post-insolvency services. She specialises in creditor services and provides guidance on legal options, including High Court and County Court proceedings across England and Wales. Her expertise covers emergency and injunctive actions, asset recovery and realisation, investigations into directors’ loan accounts, antecedent transactions under the Insolvency Act 1986 and Companies Act 2006, and sale agreements arising from insolvencies. Alison is also highly skilled in drafting complex legal documents, such as petitions, court applications, asset sale agreements, and security documents required for various appointments under the Insolvency Act 1986.

An experienced advocate and negotiator, Alison holds a Certified Mediation qualification from ADRg (2016) and is a member of R3, the UK’s leading insolvency and restructuring trade association.

Outside of work, Alison enjoys staying active through HIIT classes and running, having completed several half marathons for charity. She also has a passion for travelling and walking.
