As Associate Director at Silverback Law, Emma plays a key leadership role in the strategic development and growth of the firm’s Debt Recovery and Insolvency services. Working closely with the senior leadership team, she provides operational oversight, technical guidance, mentoring, and training across multiple departments, helping to drive excellence, innovation, and outstanding client service throughout the business.
Emma is a specialist in debt recovery and pre-insolvency action, with extensive experience advising businesses, lenders, insolvency practitioners, and individuals on the recovery of outstanding debts and the early management of financial distress. She works closely with clients to develop effective recovery strategies, enforce legal remedies, and identify practical solutions that maximise recoveries while mitigating risk.
Her expertise lies in helping clients take proactive action before formal insolvency proceedings become necessary, enabling them to protect their interests and make informed commercial decisions at the earliest opportunity. She also advises on a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, guiding clients through both contentious and non-contentious issues arising before and during the insolvency processes.
As part of her leadership responsibilities, Emma is committed to expanding Silverback Law’s insolvency offering and developing specialist services that support clients across the full spectrum of debt recovery and insolvency matters. Her ambition is to help establish Silverback Law as a recognised market leader in the sector.
Emma holds a degree in Business Administration and is a Chartered Legal Executive with Independent Practice Rights. She combines strong commercial awareness with extensive legal expertise in debt recovery, litigation, pre-insolvency strategy, and insolvency law. Her pragmatic and commercially focused approach enable her to deliver effective outcomes for clients facing complex legal and financial challenges.
Emma is a member of the Leeds and Newcastle Business and Property Courts Forum maintaining strong relationships across the legal and business communities while staying at the forefront of industry developments.
Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the countryside and local lakes, and maintaining an active lifestyle through walking, fitness, and paddleboarding. She also enjoys dining out and socialising with friends.
