Jon is the founder and CEO of Silverback Law. With over 26 years of experience, Jon has built Silverback to challenge traditional law firm models, emphasising inclusivity, client-focused service, and flexible work practices.

Before founding Silverback, Jon held leadership roles as Team Manager at Ward Hadaway, a top 50 law firm in Newcastle, and Associate and Manager at Shulmans, a top 200 law firm in Leeds. These roles helped shape his expertise in managing teams, building client relationships, and navigating the legal industry.

Jon’s path to law wasn’t traditional. After a brief stint in teaching and playing semi-professional football, Jon started as a filing clerk at a law firm, where he discovered his passion for debt recovery and litigation. His dedication led to rapid advancement in the legal field.

In 2014, Jon and his wife Jo founded Silverback Law with an initial investment of £150,000. Determined to build a firm that valued client service and work-life balance, Silverback grew through challenges, including the tough early years and the impact of COVID-19.

Jon’s vision for Silverback Law is continued growth with a strong focus on team culture and client relationships. He is committed to fostering a workplace that supports both professional success and personal well-being.

Outside of work, Jon is a Rugby Union fan and follows Newcastle United FC. He enjoys unwinding with a glass of Amarone wine and spending time with his family.
