Marina is a highly accomplished Commercial Litigation Solicitor and Assistant Head of Commercial Litigation at Silverback Law, with over nine years of experience in civil litigation. She graduated from the University of Middlesex and completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in London. Marina qualified as a solicitor in 2020 through the CILEx route, showcasing her determination and commitment to achieving excellence through alternative pathways.

Her career has seen her excel at leading firms such as Shakespeare Martineau, Girlings, and HCB Solicitors, where she built a strong foundation in managing high-volume caseloads. At Silverback Law, Marina specialises in resolving contractual disputes, disputed debt claims, loan disputes, and claims tied to personal or directors’ guarantees. She serves clients in a wide range of industries, including construction, retail, banking, fuel cards, and credit.

Marina’s expertise is reflected in her involvement in complex and notable cases, such as breaches of restrictive covenants, fraudulent sales agreement disputes, assured tenancy possession technicalities, and enforcement actions for prominent lenders. Known for her approachable manner, commercial awareness, and results-driven mindset, she delivers creative and practical solutions to legal challenges.

Marina’s passion for supporting the legal community was exemplified during her tenure as Chair of the Worcestershire Junior Lawyers Division in 2024/25. In this role, she mentored and empowered junior lawyers, helping them build successful and balanced careers. Prior to this, she served as the Division’s Secretary and was recognized as Worcestershire Law Society’s Junior Lawyer of the Year in 2022.

Her contributions to the profession also include past volunteer roles as Secretary and Social Media Coordinator for Nottinghamshire’s CILEx Branch, mentoring through the Mosaic Enterprise Challenge and Association of Muslim Lawyers UK, and supporting community initiatives such as Medway Hospital Radio and Toynbee Hall.

When not in the office, Marina enjoys hiking for fun and charity expeditions, indulging her creative side with baking and art, and unwinding with a good book. As a keen sports enthusiast, she follows a range of sports and supports Tottenham Hotspur.

Marina is an accomplished writer, with articles featured in Worcestershire Law Society Pears Magazine on topics such as partnership agreements, personal guarantees, and mental health for junior lawyers. She was also the runner-up in the BARBRI International Cyber Crime Blogging Prize Competition in 2017 for her blog, “It’s time to take the power away from cyber criminals.”
