Shaun qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and brings with him a wealth of experience in the drafting and negotiation of commercial and construction contracts. His clients have included FTSE listed companies, PLCs, high street banks and also national retail, restaurant and leisure chains, hotels, commercial and residential developers, contractors and sub-contractors.

Shaun also acts for clients with regard to all forms of dispute resolution in the construction and commercial sectors, including mediation, adjudication, arbitration and litigation. Shaun has been engaged in matters where sums in dispute have ranged from several thousand pounds to many millions of pounds in value.

Shaun is a former member of the Panel of Examiners of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators and an accredited mediator with the ADR Group. He has also led and delivered construction law and other seminars worldwide. He is a visiting academic in construction law at Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, where he is developing a Masters’ module in construction adjudication.

He has reviewed publications as an expert for Oxford University Press, Taylor & Francis, Routledge and Wiley-Blackwell and has also reviewed papers for publication on behalf of the International Journal of Law in the Built Environment, Journal of Proceedings of the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Chartered Institute of Building World Building Congresses.

In his spare time, Shaun enjoys watching most sports and has been known to attend Leeds United football matches as a season ticket holder! He is also a keen guitarist and loves all kinds of music, attending local music gigs and music festivals across the country.
